Amos began his violin studies at the age of 2 with his mother. Subsequent teachers have included Shirley Givens, Pamela Frank, Glenn Dicterow, and Ron Copes. An alum of the New World Symphony, Amos currently resides in New York City where is pursuing graduate studies at The Julliard School. He chooses from a variety of modern violins, including those by Edward Maday, Jason Viseltear, and Florian Leonhard.
Amos enjoys a diverse career, performing in a variety of settings while remaining committed to education. He has appeared as a soloist with the New World Symphony, Orquesta Filarmonica de Medellin, Mid-Atlantic Symphony and others, all while presenting recitals in Miami, New York, Baltimore, Tucson, and in his native Long Island. In demand as a frequent guest concertmaster, he has held that distinction with Orchestra Iowa, Illinois Symphony, Tucson Symphony, and the Annapolis Symphony, amongst others.
Equally committed to education, Amos has served on the faculties of New World School of the Arts and the East End Arts Council School of the Arts. During the 2014/15 Season he was awarded a prestigious Morse Fellowship by the Julliard School. Formally he was a Teaching Artist in the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's CHAMPS program and Presently is part of the violin faculty at CUNY Queens College Center for Preparatory Studies in Music.
